PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injector capable of controlling rates of fuel injection at multiple stages by sealing a volume part comprising a part of a pressure control chamber with an open/close valve, which opens and closes a fuel delivery passage, with the opening area of the fuel delivery passage of the pressure control chamber kept constant. SOLUTION: A valve element 67 of an open/close valve 65 opens a communicating hole 58 between a first volume part 60 and a second volume part 61 that comprise a pressure control chamber 30 to discharge fuel within he second volume part 61 through the communicating hole 58, and when the valve element 67 of the open/close valve 65 closes the communicating hole 58 with a needle valve 31 lifted to a half (see the drawing), the needle valve 31 is stopped lifting further, and the fuel is injected at a low rate of fuel injection. When the open/ close valve 65 opens the communicating hole 58 again, the fuel is discharged within the second volume part 61 through the communicating hole 58, thus increasing the lift amount of the needle valve 31, so that fuel injection can be carried out at a high rate of fuel injection.
