PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid detergent composition which enables the number of times of being replaced in a dishwasher (e.g. a business-use automatic dishwasher) to be decreased and exhibits uniform cleaning performance and storage stability by compounding a biodegradable sequestering agent into the same and by setting the solid content in a specified range. SOLUTION: The solid content is set at 60-76 wt.%. Especially suitable sequestering agents are L-glutamic acid-diacetic acid compounds represented by formula I, aspartic acid-diacetic acid compounds represented by formula II, polyaspartic acid compounds represented by formula III, iminodisuccinic acid compounds represented by formula IV, iminodiacetic acid compounds represented by formula V, and glycinediacetic acid compounds represented by formula VI. In formulas I to VI, M is H, Na, K, or NH4; in formula II, R is H or OH; in formula VI, R is H or CH3; and in formula III, n and m are each a positive number. The sequestering agent is compounded preferably in an amount of 0.1-15 wt.% of the composition.
