SEAL STRUCTURE FOR COVER OF COKE OVEN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a seal structure for the cover of a coke oven, which does not deteriorate in gas sealing performances even upon heat deformation and can be fabricated relatively simply by providing a packing member freely adjust able in the length of its protrusion toward the door frame side in the peripheral position of the cover so as to be in contact with the external side of a knife edge provided at the part where the cover comes in contact with the door frame. SOLUTION: A knife edge 7 is provided at the part where the cover comes in contact with the door frame. A packing member 10 freely adjustable in the length of its protrusion toward the door frame side in the peripheral position of the cover is provided so as to be in contact with the external periphery side of the knife edge 7. Next, an L-shaped external press plate 12 is fixed on the knife edge 7 by e.g. welding, and an L-shaped internal press plate 11 which is smaller than the plate 12 and is capable of being held inside the plate 12 is fixed with a side fixing bolt 13 to the side of the knife edge 7 and with an upper fixing bolt 14 to the side of the door frame 2 in a manner capable of pressing by the advancement and retraction of the bolts 13 and 14.
