PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and an image forming method, which are capable of preferentially delivering a paper even when the paper has a different size. SOLUTION: A rasterize unit 25 divides the code data of one page into a plurality of bands and converts the same to produce raster data for every bands. The raster data, produced by the rasterize unit 25 with respect to each bands, are stored temporality in the band buffer of a buffer memory unit 27 and, thereafter, the raster data are transmitted to a printer engine unit 30. When the printer engine unit 30 receives the code data of paper size of a next page, different from a page under printing in the printer engine unit 30, a memory control unit 29 secures a new band memory suitable for the printing of the next page on the blank area of the buffer memory unit 27.
