摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a stable working accuracy and working quality even when a cutting plane of a pipe is inclined. SOLUTION: When cutting a pipe on condition that a laser beam machining head 7 equipped with a freely swingable nozzle 9 for emitting laser beam is moved and positioned on a processing plane of a pipe, e.g. in the direction of X, Z axes, the pipe is held by a holder attached to a pipe rotating device on a working table and then two coordinates of point P1 and point P2 on the processing plane of the pipe are measured by a profiling detector 23 at a fore end of the nozzle. By measured coodinates (X0, Z0) and (X1, Z1) of the points P1 and P2, inclined angleθof the pipe is automatically calculated. According to that the nozzle 9 is inclined by the same inclination angleθ, the fore end of the nozzle is set perpendicular to the processing plane of the pipe. On such condition, the pipe is rotated by a pipe rotating device and is cut, so faults in processed size due to inclination of the pipe and defective working do not occur, and working accuracy and working quality get stable.</p>
