PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove dirt on a tread of a footstep and near a boundary between the tread and a riser of a simple structure, by supporting second cleaning brushes by a bracket via a support plate so that the brushes respective abut to a bottom face and a surface of a groove in the tread. SOLUTION: A first bracket 61 is fastened via a screw 61a to a mounting hole from which a comb plate is removed, and a first cleaning body 62 is mounted via the first bracket 61 and a second cleaning body 63 is mounted via a support plate 64. A mop body 63c abuts to the surface, bottom faces, and side ends of grooves 111a, 111b by lifting down an escalator, so that treads 11a, 11b can be cleaned without irregularity. In addition, second brushes 63b respectively abut to the bottom face and the surface of the groove 111a of the tread 11a of an engaging footstep 1a, and a mop body 63e abuts to the side end of the tread 11a to sufficiently clean the treads 11a, 11b.
