PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active control method whereby changes in output in a frequency range wherein a filter factor varies abruptly can be controlled smoothly at low cost. SOLUTION: A data table ROM 66 storing data about the renewal of a filter factor obtained through adaptive control is mounted on the control part 31 of a controller for a mass-produced vehicle M. The filter factor output value ak of an output signal (y) at a predetermined frequency fk in the vehicle to be controlled is compared with a stored filter factor value akmap read from the data table ROM, and if the output value ak is greater than the stored value akmap, a step size parameterμis subtracted from the output value ak; if the output value ak is smaller than the stored value akmap, the predetermined valueμis added to the output value ak, thus performing renewal whenever necessary so that the output value ak is equal with the stored value akmap.
