PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit a bending moment to prevent the change in angle between a column and a horizontal member and to improve the earthquake resistance by forming an extension bent part on a Y-shaped or U-shaped reinforcing metal fitting, and abutting it to the horizontal surface of the horizontal member. SOLUTION: A sill 2 consisting of a wooden square timber is placed on a concrete foundation 1 and fixed thereto by an anchor bolt, and a steel plate- made Y-shaped reinforcing metal fitting 8 is fixed to the joint part of the sill 2 to a column 3 by a small screw 6. In the Y-shaped reinforcing metal fitting 8, the lower part of a body part 8a is extended and bent at a right angle to form an extension bent part 8b, which then abuts to the lower surface of the sill 2. In the joint part of the column 3 with a beam, also, the extension bent part 8b of the reinforcing metal fitting 8 abuts to the upper surface of the beam. In the use of a U-shaped reinforcing metal fitting, also, an extension bent part is formed in the same manner. According to this, a bending moment is transmitted through the extension bent part 8b to prevent the change in angle between the column 3 and the sill 2 or beam, and the earthquake resistance can be improved.
