PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper tray container with a cover which can be properly opened by lifting the handle piece of the cover, and an inverted blank of which can be detected during blank production, preventing the production of a defective product beforehand. SOLUTION: This relates to a square paper tray container with a cover, and on the flange part of the container, the paper cover having in a corner a handle piece whose both sides are formed by a cut line is sealed. The container 2 is so set that when its blanks are assemble in a tray shape by folding left, right, front and back side panels 41, 42, 43, 44, each flange piece 50, 51, 52, 53 and a flap 60 forms a flange part on the same plane. The container is provided with a notch 70 at a position corresponding at least to one area of both side cut line areas of the handle of the cover to be sealed between the flap 60 and both outside edge ends of the front and back flange pieces 53, 54 or the right and left flange pieces 50, 51.
