PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a putty composition that can reduce the absorption of paint, when it is coated with a paint and can be directly coated with a final coating paint without coating with a primer surfacer as the putty gives the sufficiently hard surface with its volume shrinkage reduced. SOLUTION: This putty composition comprises (A) 20-80 pts.wt. of a polymerizable unsaturated group-bearing acrylic resin that has 0.5-10 double bonds per 1,000 molecular weight, (B) 3-30 pts.wt. of an unsaturated polyester resin with an acid value of 10-40, (C) 3-20 pts.wt. of an abrasive made of a higher fatty acid soap, (D) 0.5-5 pts.wt. of a polymerization initiator and an extender pigment.
