PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve flexibility by a minimum member, and increase the working efficiency of a vacuum process by forming an inner pipe as a flat pipe having smooth inside/outside surfaces. SOLUTION: A heat insulating pipe is a flat pipe of an inner pipe 1 having smooth inside/outside surfaces. An internal pressure reinforcing layer 5 and a tensile force reinforcing layer 6 by winding a metallic tape in a spiral shape in the peripheral direction are arranged on the outside surface of the inner pipe 1. A heat insulating material 4 is wound to be inserted into an outer pipe 2. A spacer 7 for securing the space is arranged between the inner pipe 1 and the outer pipe 2 to be evacuated (3). The inner pipe 1 is a flat pipe formed of easily bendable lead. A superconductor is inserted inside the inner pipe 1, and liquid nitrogen 9 being a refrigerant is made to flow in the void. The inner pipe 1 is formed as a flat pipe so as to perform an excellent effect capable of reducing a pressure loss caused by the inflow of the refrigerant.
