PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter-tipped cigarette that is safe to living body and can reduce the tar and heavy metals included in main smoke flow and a filter for cigarette that adsorbs undesirable components, for example, tar, heavy metals and the like included in the main flow smoke and is safe to living body. SOLUTION: This filter for cigarette includes fine granules of basic calcium phosphate with a volume-average particle size of 5-500μm and a specific surface area of 5-120 m2/g, that are dispersed inside the filter. In another case, the objective filter for cigarette is produced by molding basic calcium phosphate to a porous body with a porosity of 30-90%, and a specific surface area of 5-120 m2/g. These cigarette filters are used to produce a filter-tipped cigarette.
