PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent a defect in precision of form at a corner due to a follow-up delay of a cutting machine or cutting delay of a lower part of a cut face without causing a waste of material by decreasing a cutting speed in a specified section in front and rear of the corner whose angle is no greater than a specified value and simultaneously changing cutting conditions other than the cutting speed. SOLUTION: A cutting under a normal cutting condition is carried out from a point F toward a point B, a corner angleθB is read in at a corner B, andθB is judged whether it is equal to or smaller than a preliminarily determined and prescribed angleθ. At the same time, a moving distance (coordinate) is monitored during the time when a plasma torch is moving, a remaining moving distance to the next corner B is calculated, and the arrival of the plasma torch at a point Q is judged. When the plasma torch arrives at the point Q in a condition that the corner angleθB <= the prescribed angleθ, a cutting speed is decreased, and at the same time, a cutting condition is switched into a prescribed corner cutting condition. On the other hand, when the angleθB > the angleθ, the cutting is continued under the normal cutting condition.
