PLANT VECTOR HAVING SUNFLOWER FARNESYL PYROPHOSPHATE SYNTHASE GENE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tobacco plant having aging-delaying property of its leaf, asexual reproduction and a high content of chlorophyll by transducing an expression vector containing a sunflower farnesyl pyrophosphate synthase gene into a plant cell and growing the plant cell to a plant. SOLUTION: A transgenic tobacco plant which is related to a reference plant and has an improved aging-delaying property, increased asexual reproduction and seed production and an increased chlorophyll content is obtained by making a plant cell grow into a plant after transducing, into the plant cell, a recombinant plant expression vector containing a nucleic acid constituent which encodes a sunflower farnesyl pyrophosphate synthase protein having an amino acid sequence represented by formula I and contains a cDNA nucleotide sequence separated from a seedling of Helianthus-annus and a promoter selected from the group consisting of a bacterial promoter, a plant promoter and a virus promoter.
