PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip disposal device having a structurally simple chain tension adjusting device. SOLUTION: This chip disposal device 100 has a chain 130 with a scraper unit 134 inside a body 110 and conveys chips from a chip input port 122 to a discharge port 124. A drive sprocket 140 for the chain is driven by a drive shaft 142. This chain tension adjusting device 200 disposed near the drive sprocket 140 has a nut 220 fixed to the body 10 and a bolt 230 threadably engaging the nut 220, and adjusts tension by pressing the chain 130 by means of a presser plate 210 provided at the tip of the bolt 230.
