PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building outer surface cleaning device capable of cleaning the windows of a building and/or the outer surface of an exterior wall with high safety without restrictions on time and season. SOLUTION: This building outer surface cleaning device is provided with traverse guide rails 12, 14 disposed at the upper and lower parts of the exterior wall surface of each floor or a plurality of floors of a building; a frame 20 traversably supported by engaging means 16, 18 engaged with the guide rails 12, 14; a cleaning unit 22 disposed at the frame 20; and a parking means for parking the frame 20 while cleaning work is not performed. Traversing action can be performed as a self-advancing type put in traverse motion by a traversing drive source mounted on the frame 20 or as a driven type driven by a wire rope or a chain delivered and wound by an external driving means fixed into an appropriate place or by a ball spline mechanism.
