PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable bearing unit for drive wheel such that the bearing unit is free from vibration and asymmetric abrasion of a brake caused by deflection of a brake rotor generated as a vehicle is driven faster, and time- consuming adjustments for suppressing vibration is unnecessary. SOLUTION: A bearing unit for drive wheel has a bearing portion comprising an outer member 5 having a flange 4 to be mounted to a vehicle body and a plurality of arrays of raceway surfaces 5a, 5b on the inner periphery of the outer member 5, a rolling body 6 disposed at the inner side of the outer member 5, and an inner member 3 having a wheel mounting flange 7 to mount a wheel and a raceway surface 10a on the outer periphery of the inner member 3. Furthermore, the bearing unit has a constant velocity joint 2 comprising an outer joint member 13 disposed at one end of a drive shaft and having a truck groove inside, an inner joint member 14 and a ball 15. A raceway surface 10b of the bearing unit is disposed on an outside surface of the outer joint member 13 and a deflection width at a side face of the wheel mounting flange 7 is restricted within standard value.
