PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and the weight of a whole machine, to shorten the transfer distance of a blank, and to improve the working speed by increasing the pitch between dies disposed at the center position, and reducing the pitch between dies disposed on both sides thereof. SOLUTION: In a multi-stage metal heading machine in which a plurality of chucking claws corresponding to a plurality of dies 2-5 are disposed immediately before the dies 2-5 continuously disposed on a front portion of a machine body 1 with specified intervals, a blank transferred to a front surface of each die by the chucking claws is headed by a punch opposite to each die, and the blank pushed out of each die is held by the chucking claws and successively transferred to a front surface of a die in a next process, the pitch A between the dies 3 and 4 disposed on the center position out of a plurality of dies 2-5 is set to be larger than the pitches B and B' between the dies 2 and 5 disposed on both sides thereof, and the transfer pitch of the chucking claws corresponding to these dies are different from each other.
