PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover ink ejection state of all nozzles surely even with an weak suction force by a structure wherein a cap surrounding the nozzle outlet chokes the outlet of a part of nozzles out of a plurality of nozzles and surrounds the outlet of remaining nozzles. SOLUTION: A print head 30 has a plurality of nozzles 34 for ejecting ink. Since a bubble 40 is generated or a foreign matter 42 is mixed in the nozzle 34 or an ink supply chamber 36, a unit 50 for recovering the initial ink ejection state is provided. The recovery unit 50 has a rubber cap 52 for choking the outlet of a part of nozzles out of a plurality of nozzles 34 in the print head 30 and surrounding the outlet of remaining nozzles thus intercepting the outer air. When a suction pump is operated under that state, a bubble 40 is sucked along with ink only from a remaining nozzle facing a recess 54. Consequently, ink ejection state of the remaining nozzle is recovered surely even if the suction force is weak. |
