PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic power steering device having good responsive ness with low power consumption without requiring a flow control valve. SOLUTION: This device controls a steered wheel 10 by the operation of a steering wheel 12. In this case, the device is equipped with a double acting steering hydraulic cylinder 26, a two-way flow type hydraulic pump 46 whose ports 48a, 48b are communicated with the volumetric chambers 30a, 30b of the hydraulic cylinder 26, a reversible electric motor 22 for operating the hydraulic pump 46, a means 18 for detecting handle operating condition, and a control means 20 for controlling the electric motor 22 based on the handle operating condition detected by the detecting means 18. Therefore, only changing the rotating direction and speed of the hydraulic pump 46, direction and amount of hydraulic fluid flow to the hydraulic cylinder 26 can be directly controlled. Therefore, a flow control valve is no more required. |
