PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve element for a faucet capable of preventing generation of water leak, and extraordinarily extending a service life of the faucet by improving tightness of the valve element to a valve seat. SOLUTION: In a valve element 12 for a faucet 1 for opening/closing a communication hole 3 in a partition wall 2 by getting in contact with/apart from a valve seat 4 protruded from a flat part in the partition wall 2 parting a water intruducing chamber 5 in the faucet 1 from a drain chamber 6, the valve element 12 forms a circular protruded part at a bottom surface of a packing 13 which gets in contact with/apart from the valve seat 4, and in stopping water, the bottom surface of the packing 13 is tightly applied to the valve seat 4, while the protruded part is tightly applied to the flat part on a circumferential surface of the valve seat 4.
