PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for cleaning a coal charging opening of a coke oven which can remove carbon adhered to the inner wall of a coal charging opening in a short period of time accompanied by coal charging opera tion. SOLUTION: Inside a dust-collecting hood 14 which ascends and descends with each coal feeding sleeve 5 of a coal charging vehicle, in an opening between the coal feeding sleeve 5 and the inner wall of a coal charging opening 3, a plurality of ejectors 24 composed of a nozzle and a diffuser are installed downwardly and towards the peripheral surface of the coal charging opening. The nozzle of each ejector 24 is connected with compressed air supplying equipment 25 by a compressed air supplying tube 26. Prior to charging of coal into a carbonization chamber, compressed air is supplied to the nozzle of each ejector 24 and jetted together with the air sucked from the diffuser against the inner peripheral surface of the coal charging opening as a high speed spiral flow to blow off and remove the adhered carbon and thus, the cleaning is effected in a short period of time.
