PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controllable caster by varying frictional force of a slide stabilizing plate with respect to the ground and ground pressure of the same. SOLUTION: By changing a tilt angle of a slide stabilizing plate 1 made of inflexible material, a wheel 2 connected with an upper object is easily lifted from the ground. Accordingly, ground pressure is changed from a state where the wheel moves freely to a state where the load on a flat face other than the wheel sustains the object weight. The slide stabilizing plate 1 is provided with material for changing friction. Furthermore, a drive unit capable of changing the tilt angle of the slide stabilizing plate 1 and a tilt angle change detection device are provided. Then detected data regarding changes in tilt angle are output therefrom.
