PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out the elevating operation as operator's like besides the minifying of a burden applied to the operator without requiring a switch operation including the takeoff and landing time. SOLUTION: This method controls an elevating device provided with a power drive type elevating means 1 for elevating objects, a detector for detecting the elevating speed by the elevating means 1, a detection means 3 for detecting the hang force of the object and a detection means 5 for detecting the contact state of the object with the operator. The elevating operation at a prescribed speed is started by judging the intervention of the operation force by the operator from the change of the hang force. When the hang force is changed, as the elevating operation is started by making this to a trigger, the switch operation is not required and the takeoff and landing can be carried out.
