DESCALING AGENT FOR OXALIC CALCIUM

PURPOSE: Provided is a descaling agent for oxalic calcium scale that is commonly found in equipment of paper mills. The descaling agent does not have harmful influences on equipment of paper mills, while having excellent solubility on oxalic calcium scale. CONSTITUTION: The descaling agent for oxalic calcium scale contains 0.1-10 wt.% of at least one alkali metal salt selected from sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, 0.1-10 wt.% of chelate agent consisting of EDTA (Ethylene Diamine Tetra Acetate) and/or DTPA (Diethlene Triamine Penta Acetate), and optionally 0.001-0.1 wt.% of surfactant selected from sulfonates and sulfo succinates. Also, the optimal temperature range for removing oxalic calcium scale by using this descaling agent is between room temperature and 80 deg.C.
