ADAPTIVE SETTING DEVICE OF SOURCE CODING AREA AND RECORD/PLAYBACK DEVICE USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An adaptive setting device of source coding area and record/playback device using the same are provided to detect an effective start line from which additive informations added to video signals are started, thereby automatically deciding the coding area. CONSTITUTION: An adaptive setting device of source coding area comprises a line memory(301), a comparator(302) and a counting block(303). The line memory(301) delays video signals to be recorded or transferred by one time. The comparator(302) compares the motion amount between an input video signal and the delayed video signal to generate a counting control signals if the comparison value is over a critical value. The counting block(303) is reset by vertical synchronous signals and receives horizontal synchronous signals as a counting input signal to output the counting value when the counting control signals are applied as an effective start line information.
