PURPOSE: A method for producing an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and the LCD thereof are provided to reduce mask processing numbers and to improve the yield rate. CONSTITUTION: Two-layered gate electrode(56) and a pixel electrode(66) are formed by depositing and patterning transparent/opaque conductive metals on a substrate. An active layer(58) is formed by depositing and patterning a three-layered semiconductor on the two-layered gate electrode, the pixel electrode and the exposed substrate. The three-layered semiconductor comprises an insulating film, a pure amorphous silicon and an amorphous silicon containing impurities. The two-layered pixel electrode is changed to a one-layered structure of transparent conductive metal by eliminating the opaque conductive metal layer. Source/drain electrodes(62,64) are formed on the active layer by depositing and patterning a metal on the active layer and the pixel electrode. A protecting layer is deposited on the drain electrode, the three-layered active layer and the pixel electrode.
