PURPOSE: A window regulator and the control method is provided to stop an operation of a power window and to operate reversely when a foreign body is inserted in a window, so a window regulator and a foreign body are secured. CONSTITUTION: A window regulator has an operating motor(20) to ascend and descend a window glass; a ring type magnetic(24) to be mounted on a rotor (22)of the operating motor; a first(50) and a second(55) hole sensor to be mounted around the magnetic; a control part(30) to receive signals from the first and the second sensor and to monitor the condition of the operating motor, and to control the operation of the operation part; an operation part(40) to receive a signal from the control part and to operate the operating motor.
