PURPOSE: A microwave oven is provided to allow a user to recognize the weight and calories of food prior to cooking through a display unit. CONSTITUTION: A microwave oven comprises a cooking chamber(1), a door(3) for opening/closing the cooking chamber, an operation unit for selecting and inputting cooking function, cooking time and power on/off, a display unit(7) for displaying cooking function, cooking time, calories and menu, a heater unit for generating microwave and heating the food stuff disposed within the cooking chamber, and a control unit for controlling the display unit and the heater unit in accordance with the selection made by the operation unit. The cooking chamber includes a weight sensor unit(1A) arranged at the center of the bottom of the cooking chamber and which senses the weight of food stuff in the cooking chamber. The operation unit includes a key pad(5A) with numerals 0 to 9 and characters. The control unit includes a storing section for storing data such as the nutrient intake amount according to sex, age and weight, composition of nutrient, food calories, and cooking time, and cook-related data; and a management program for calculating calories in accordance with the information input through the operation unit, and managing diet programs.
