DEFROST OPERATION METHOD FOR AIR CONDITIONER

PURPOSE: A defrost operation method is provided to achieve an improved efficiency of defrost operation by starting the defrost operation by sensing the temperature of pipe of outdoor heat exchanger and an indoor air temperature. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a first step of judging whether a predetermined time period has lapsed during heating operation; a second step of judging whether the temperature of the pipeline of an outdoor heat exchanger is a predetermined temperature or lower; and judging whether to start defrost operation in accordance with the outdoor temperature, and starting defrost operation if the outdoor temperature is 0 Deg.C or higher, and starting defrost operation after executing heating operation if the outdoor temperature is lower than 0 Deg.C. A compressor is operated for an increased time period in accordance with the temperature of outdoor air, thus reducing the time required for defrost operation.
