PURPOSE: A cellular phone and a pay phone having a function outputting a dual tone multi frequency(DTMF) signal, is provided to decode a DTMF signal if the other party encodes numeric information to the DTMF signal for transmitting during telephone speech through a cellular phone, and to output the decoded DTMF signal through a liquid crystal display(LCD) screen. CONSTITUTION: If the other party encodes numeric information to a dual tone multi frequency(DTMF) signal for transmitting, the DTMF signal is received to a cellular phone(10) of a user after passing an exchange of the other party, a mobile communication exchange of the user, and a base station(90). The DTMF signal received through a transceiving unit(70) is delivered to a signal control unit(30) by control of a central processing unit(CPU,20), to decode the DTMF signal. The decoded DTMF signal is displayed to a display unit(40) by control of the CPU(20). The received DTMF signal is automatically stored in a memory(100). Therefore, the numeric information is confirmed at any time. If the numeric information is for telephone numbers, automatic telephony without using a key input unit(50) is performed.
