CONTAMINANT REMOVAL EQUIPMENT USING LIGHT SOURCE

PURPOSE: A contaminant removal equipment using light source is provided to decompose non-biodegradable organic materials and virus of water using ultraviolet lays being below 200 nm wave. The equipment is applicable to prechlorination process and disinfection. CONSTITUTION: The equipment consists of a septic tank (100); a case (110) installed at one side of the septic tank (100); a light source (120), being installed in the case, for emitting ultraviolet rays by electric discharge between positive electrode and negative electrode; a control part (130) to control distance of electrodes; a light-reflection plate (140) to irradiate light to targeted part; a control part (150) to control the entire system. Further, the electrode is one selected from tungsten, carbon, titanium/palladium, titanium coated with iridium. And the case (110) is packed with one gas selected from argon, nitrogen, neon, xenon.
