The torque variation absorber for a motor vehicle drive has driven and driving discs (20,30) and a movable arm (40) which is in sliding contact (42) with a slide surface on one of the discs. The movable arm is moved with respect to the other disc and the sliding surface conforms to the relative rotation between the discs. A spring (50) is compressed as a function of the movement of the arm.
