PURPOSE: A phase change optical disk having two recording layers is provided to use a laser beam having a single wavelength as recording data with improved recording density, thereby exactly replaying the recorded data. CONSTITUTION: An incident layer is put over one surface of a substrate, and is composed of a dielectric. A first recording layer is put over the incident layer, and is composed of a phase change material. A space layer is put over the first recording layer, and is composed of a dielectric. A second recording layer is put over the space layer, and is composed of a phase change material. An insulating layer is put over the second recording layer, and is composed of a dielectric. A protecting layer is put over the insulating layer.
