APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FAST SEARCHING CELL OF CDMA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for fast searching a cell of a CDMA(code division multiple access) communication system is provided to obtain a cell through a scramble code as well as frame synchronization during cell searching in a CDMA communication system. CONSTITUTION: A correlator(311) correlates a second synchronization code with the received signals from each slot of a second synchronization channel. An accumulator(312) accumulates the output of a matched filter(311) per slot and a decider(313) decides the output of the accumulator(312). The decider(313) decides a scramble code index as plus or minus 1 depending on if the accumulator(312) has a positive or negative code. The correlator(311) obtains the scramble code index depending on the code by correlating the second synchronization code obtained by frame synchronization.
