PURPOSE: A muffler is provided to allow a cartridge replacement to be carried out in an easy manner and significantly reduce noise by installing a resonator at a compressed air inlet port. CONSTITUTION: A muffler arranged between an air compressor and a compressed air cooler, comprises a main body(35) one end of which is communicated to the compressed air cooler and the other end of which has an aperture for mounting or removal of a cartridge, and a compressed air admission section(33) one end of which is communicated to a predetermined side portion of the main body and the other end of which contacts the air compressor. The compressed air admission section has at an outer periphery thereof one or more resonator devices(32). The cartridge has at an interior thereof a ring rod for preventing a sound absorbing member from being pushed and entangled with each other by a compressed air. The resonator device includes a resonance control bolt, and a resonance control plate which reciprocates by the rotation of the resonance control bolt and controls the resonance space formed between the resonance control plate and the compressed air admission section.
