PURPOSE: A railway crossing traffic control system by a base station and a control method thereof are provided to calculate a point of the time when a train passes through the railway crossing and inform a situation of the railway crossing to an engine driver. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of base station(102-108) communicates with a communicating means. Two base stations are installed at a direction in which the train enters by predetermined distance based on a railway crossing. At least base station is installed at a direction in which the train backs by predetermined distance based on a railway crossing. A road intercepting means(112,112a) intercepts a road when a train passes through a railway crossing. A controller(110) controls the road intercepting means(112,112a) by using a sequential train entry information. The controller(110) calculates an expecting time when the train passes through a railway crossing by using an entry time when the train enters into two base stations.
