PURPOSE: A method for reducing the pitching motion of an excavator is provided to reduce the pitching motion of the excavator by regulating a flux supplied to a boom cylinder through a check valve and securing the dynamic stability of the excavator. CONSTITUTION: A work device is made up of a bucket, an arm and a boom. A boom cylinder(16) has large and small chambers(20,21) and a direction control valve(MCV) controls a flow of hydraulic oil. A pump(22) supplies the hydraulic oil to the boom cylinder and a tank stores the hydraulic oil. When the pressure in the chambers(20,21) decreases in a state of closing the direction control valve, the hydraulic oil is filled in the chambers. Herein, the motion by the inertia of the work device is decreased by supplying a large quantity of the hydraulic oil. Thus, the pitching motion is reduced without affecting the static stability, work speed, work amount of the excavator and rules.
