PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a production method thereof are provided to reduce a line resistance of a data bus line and to enlarge a capacity of an auxiliary capacity electrode. CONSTITUTION: A gate bus line(120) and a common electrode for an auxiliary capacity electrode(150) are formed with a first metal layer. An interlayer insulating film is formed. A semiconductor layer(180) is patterned. A gate electrode(120a), a data bus line(130) and a second auxiliary capacity electrode(170) are formed on a spread gate insulating film with a second metal layer. An ion is doped and activated on a semiconductor layer with the gate electrode. A pixel electrode(140) is formed on first/second protecting films. The pixel electrode(140) and a semiconductor layer(180b), the data bus line(130) and a semiconductor layer(180a) and the gate electrode(120a) and the gate bus line(120) are connected through contact holes(109a,109b,109c). The first auxiliary capacity electrode(160) is overlapped between the common electrode(150) and the interlayer insulating film by locating the semiconductor layer(180) thereon.
