摘要 PURPOSE: The method for allocating a label in an asynchronous network system that supports switching of a multi-protocol label is provided to enable a convenient traffic control, by checking the traffic amount on a transmission path to allocate a label switched path(LSP), and by allocating a dynamic label on the path that has much traffic with priority. CONSTITUTION: A label switching router(LSR) sets a timer and a counter by each entry of a routing table(310). The LSR transmits a received cell and IP packet using a hop-by-hop routing(320). It is checked if the amount of the data traffic toward a target address is more than the threshold(330). The values of the timer and the counter are increased(340). The LSR transmits a label distribution protocol(LDP) and thereby requests the allocation of the label(350). The label is allocated to a requested path, which is informed to the LSR(360). The allocated label is mapped to the target address(370). The data toward the target address is transmitted via the LSP with a high speed(380).
