PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to broaden a surface area of a protective film and to increase a volume of emitting secondary electrons, thereby reducing a discharge starting voltage. CONSTITUTION: A pair of sustain electrodes are formed on an upper substrate(30) side by side. A dielectric layer(34) has a trench structure. A protective film(36) is formed on a surface of the dielectric layer(34) and also has the trench structure. A surface area of the protective film is increased so that a volume of emitting secondary electrons is increased. Wall charges are accumulated on the surface of the protective film at the sustain discharge period. The trench structure of the protective film prevents the accumulated wall charges from being neutralized. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce a driving voltage by reducing an interval between two sustain electrodes. |
