PURPOSE: An AC surface discharge PDP and driving method for PDP is provided to prevent discharge crosstalk and improve contrast and luminous efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A PDP comprises a first and a second substrates opposing with each other; a plurality pairs of sustain electrodes disposed to be parallel with each other onto the first substrate; a plurality of data electrodes disposed onto the first or the second substrate in such a manner that the data electrodes are approximately perpendicular to the pairs of sustain electrodes; a plurality of discharge cells formed at a cross point between the pair of sustain electrodes and the data electrodes; a discharge gas filling the discharge cells; and conductive electrodes disposed in a striped shape between the pairs of sustain electrodes. The conductive electrode is made up of black electrode material. A discharge space(50) is formed wider than a dead-zone space, and the conductive black electrode is arranged at the center of the dead-zone space between the discharge spaces. |
