TELEPHONE CAPABLE OF INPUTTING HANDUL AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING HANGUL USING THE TELEPHONE

PURPOSE: A method for processing Hangul(Korean character) using telephone buttons is provided to arrange Korean alphabets(Hangul) on the telephone buttons, so as to reduce overlapped Korean alphabets and to minimize the number of times for inputting Hangul. CONSTITUTION: A telephone for inputting Hangul(Korean character) reads inputted button data to separate an initial consonant in a Korean orthographic syllable. The telephone reads next inputted button data to decide whether the data presents a numerical button of a first line. If so, the telephone senses the number of times of inputted numerical buttons, and decides whether consonants are inputted. If so, the inputted button data is processed as a final consonant. If the consonants are not inputted, the inputted button data is processed as a vowel or a semivowel of the Korean syllable, and a vowel/semivowel check flag is set up as '1'. If the inputted button data is not a button in the first line, the telephone decides whether the vowel/semivowel check flag is set up as '1'. If so, the inputted button data is processed as a final consonant. If the flag is not set up as '1', the data is processed as a vowel/semivowel, then the flag is set up as '1'. The steps from the step of reading the inputted button data to the step of setting up the flag as '1', when the flag is not set up as '1', are repeatedly performed. The processed initial consonant/the vowel or semivowel/the final consonant are synthesized to input one character.
