PURPOSE: A method of driving a synchronous reluctance motor is provided to reduce a noise by providing a sufficient lead angle when a washing velocity of a washing machine is accelerated. CONSTITUTION: A method of driving a synchronous reluctance motor includes the step(S101) of generating an interrupt signal when the position of the rotor of the synchronous reluctance motor is sensed through eight pole sensing magnets by three hole sensors. In the steps(S102-S105), when the interrupt signal is generated by the step(S101), it is determined whether Flag value is a logic zero or a logic one in order to determine whether the position of the rotor is in the first half period. In the step(S106), data is retrieved from a look-up table according to the determination result of the step(S102-S105). And by the step(S107), a gate signal is generated according to the data.
