PURPOSE: An instantaneous degaussing circuit for color monitor is provided to reduce the operating time of the degaussing circuit and erase the posistor waiting until temperature is dropped, thereby preventing the collapse phenomenon of a screen by instantaneous degaussing for vertical feedback period. CONSTITUTION: An instantaneous degaussing circuit for color monitor comprises a manual switch(M.SW), a micom(10), a degaussing current applier(11) and a degaussing coil(L10). The manual switch(M.SW) is turned ON/OFF in accordance with the selection motion of a user. The micom(10) receives vertical synchronous signals(V_sync) to output a degaussing command. The degaussing current applier(11) generates high current in accordance with the degaussing signal output from the micom. The degaussing coil(L10) degauss the shadow mask and braun tube band in accordance with the current applied from the degaussing current applier(11).
