PURPOSE: An RF PDP and driving apparatus and method for PDP is provided to induce a sustain discharge using a relatively lower frequency without increasing the height of a barrier rib. CONSTITUTION: An RF PDP comprises the first radio frequency electrode(112) arranged at an end of a discharge cell on an upper substrate(110), the second radio frequency electrode(106) formed on a lower substrate(100) so as to diagonally oppose the first radio frequency electrode and which cooperates with the first radio frequency electrode to induce a radio frequency sustain discharge, a data electrode(102) arranged on the lower substrate in lengthwise direction of the discharge cell, a dielectric layer(104) formed onto the data electrode and the lower substrate and which forms a wall charge during discharge, a barrier rib(108) for separating each of the discharge cells, an a scan electrode(114) arranged onto the upper substrate in a direction perpendicular to the data electrode and which cooperates with the data electrode to induce an address discharge, and a discharge space(116) surrounded by the upper substrate, lower substrate and the barrier rib and which is filled with a gas mixture of He and Xe or Ne and Xe. |
