The opening-prop for a building window has a pivot mounting (1) to allow the arm (3) to pivot around one hundred and eighty degrees. The arm moves, from a median position in abutment with a keeper as far as a lowered position against a spring corresponding to a release position and to a free pivot position to allow the arm to tilt upwardly. The mounting has a plate with a housing (1c) to support the arm for pivoting.
