DYNAMIC VIRTUAL CHANNEL MANAGER

摘要

A dynamic virtual channel manager comprises detecting means for detecting an active virtual channel used for in-coming ATM cells and managing memory means for managing management information about the detected active virtual channels for each virtual channel. Processing of cells whose identifiers are consistent with those of the active virtual channels managed by the managing memory means is performed in units of a frame. Processing of each virtual channel can be performed with an ATM leased line service in units of a virtual path, and it is unnecessary to register virtual channels in a managing memory in advance, thereby accommodating many virtual channels.
