The invention relates to a device for operating an electrical load (16) which is located on the diagonal (17) of a bridge circuit (10). A control circuit (18) powers respective transistors (T1, T4; T2, T3) which lie diagonally opposite each other, alternately in immediate succession, so that symmetrical surges continuously occur in the power supply lines (11, 12) which feed the bridge circuit (10). The load (16) is switched off, if the switching duration of the switching signals (S1 - S4) for the transistors (T1 - T4) in the bridge circuit (10) which emanate from the control circuit (18) are each of the same length. |
