Process for influencing relevant quality parameters of a rolling strip in a roll stand comprises adjusting the crownings of the rolls, i.e. the surface geometry of the rolls in the longitudinal direction of the rolls by regulating the cooling of the rolls and/or their surface in the longitudinal direction of the rolls using a regulator depending on crowning and a predetermined set value of crowning. An Independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the process.
